Starting on May 22, the first performances will pay tribute to iconic Arabic music masterpieces in an intimate candlelit setting that has captivated audiences in hundreds of cities worldwide
Casablanca, Morocco – Renowned for bringing classical music into unique spaces that form part of each city’s cultural heritage, Candlelight® will be presented for the first time at Chellah Castle. Presented by Fever, this series of live concerts is designed to democratize access to classical music through an intimate and immersive experience.
Starting on May 22, Chellah Castle will be transformed into an intimate setting illuminated by thousands of candles to host this series of performances, opening with a special Candlelight concert celebrating Coldplay vs. Imagine Dragons in a unique classical reinterpretation, and followed by a tribute to Fairuz, whose songs have influenced generations across the Arab world.
With its centuries-old ruins, landscaped gardens and a deeply historic atmosphere, the space provides the perfect setting to host this one-of-a-kind musical experience that has enchanted audiences in hundreds of cities worldwide. Candlelight performances have taken place in a variety of breathtaking locations, from modern rooftops with panoramic views to iconic cathedrals, palaces, libraries, and gardens.
In Morocco, the series has taken place across Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Agadir, and Tangier at venues including Cap Spartel, Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca, Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche, Hilton Garden Inn Casablanca Sud, Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé, Story Le Carrousel Rabat, Hyatt Regency Taghazout, and Meydene Marrakech. Now, Chellah Castle joins this network of exceptional venues hosting the Candlelight experience.
Candlelight collaborates with talented local musicians such as who share the belief that classical music can resonate with a broader audience. This innovative format offers a unique musical experience through a diverse selection of programs designed to cater all tastes.
